Killing of Udhampur youth by terrorists widely condemned

JAMMU, May 30: Various organizations and individuals have strongly condemned the killing of Udhampur youth Deepu by terrorists in Anantnag where he was working with a circus company.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who represents Udhampur in the Lok Sabha, condemned the terror attack and sought strict security measures to prevent such targeted killings in the Valley.
“While on a visit to Chennai, I was extremely shocked to learn about the brutal killing of young Deepu who hailed from Majalta, district Udhampur and was earning meager livelihood in Anantnag. BJP Karyakartas have already reached the house of the bereaved family to provide all possible help. While strongly condemning the killing of this youth from a poor family, it is strongly urged that strict security measures be enforced to prevent such target killings and also to act as deterrent against terror activities,” the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office wrote on Twitter.
Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad has strongly condemned the killing of Deepu and said that terrorism is a menace that needs to be fought by all collectively.
He tweeted: “Strongly condemn the heinous act of killing Deepu of Udhampur by terrorists in Anantnag. Terrorism is a menace that needs to be fought by us collectively. It is a curse against humanity!”
Azad expressed solidarity with the victim family and urged upon the authorities to bring the culprits to justice.
The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu also condemn the dastardly act of target killing of Deepu and urged the Govt to deal a stern final blow to the enemies of peace and of India.
During an emergent meeting of the Bar, presided over by President of the Association, Sr Advocate Vikram Sharma, the members voiced serious concern over the game-plan of the terrorists and their masters across the border in selectively targeting the peace-loving civilians.
Vikram Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, exhorted the Govt to give a deterrent and befitting response to those waging war against India from within and outside. He stressed that the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu stands for the unity in diversity India is known for, and, therefore the terrorists shall not be allowed to design or pose any threat to the Indian union.
Former MLC, Vikramaditya Singh strongly condemned the selective killing of Udhampur youth and termed it as an act of cowardice by the terrorists. He said that such acts are being carried with the sole aim of vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded that perpetrators of the crime should be identified at the earliest and handed over exemplary punishment so that none dares to raise the ugly head against this nation that strongly believes in global peace and harmony.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit protested against killing of another Hindu youth in Kashmir. Shiv Sainiks assembled under the leadership of J&K chief Manish Sahni at the party office Roopnagar Jammu and torched an effigy of the “Kashmir Freedom Fighter”, an organization that has taken responsibility for the murder. Sahni demanded a Government job and cash assistance of Rs one crore to next of kin of the deceased.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Spokesperson J&K, Partap Singh Jamwal strongly condemned the heinous terrorist act and said that peoples of J&K will not tolerate the killings of innocents. He asked the Government of India to take strict action against the sponsors of terrorism. This attack clearly indicates that the Government of India has failed to eliminate terrorism and their sponsors, he added.
