Drug peddler held with heroin-like-substance

JAMMU, June 1: Police in Jammu’s Miran Sahib Area claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 3 grams of heroin-like-substance from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Miran Sahib Police Station led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, established a naka at Kotli Mian Fateh Sahib for checking of vehicles.
He said a biker tried to flee at the naka on seeing the police. He, however, was apprehended by the alert police personnel.
On search of the accused, the police spokesperson said that 3 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered.
The accused identified as Janak Raj of Rangpur Shadrav Tehsil RS Pura, Jammu, has been booked in case FIR number 108/2023 under Sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Miran Sahib Police Station and further investigation taken up.
