GGM Science College students protest

JAMMU, June 2: Following detention of their colleagues, students of GGM Science College held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The trouble erupted when Police whisked away a few students following purported complaint by the college authorities that some outsiders were creating trouble in the college premises.
The protesting students alleged that instead of taking action against the outsiders, Police arrested the college students.
According to SHO Nowabad, Inspector Surinder Raina, the students were taken into custody because of mistaken identity as they had failed to produce the college identity card. However, they were immediately released after the college established that they were students and not the outsiders, he added.
