4 houses damaged due to landslide in Budhal

RAJOURI, June 3:  Four houses were badly damaged in Pandit Mohalla of Budhal town due to land slide last night.
The incident took place at around 10 pm on Friday night. During incident a girl child was injured and an animal was also buried alive under the debris.
Reports said suddenly a landslide started on the hill in the said area and the debris of the hill and heavy stones fell on the houses of Pappu Pandit, Krishan Lal and Kapil Dev Sharma and destroyed all the houses badly. The Kutcha house of Pappu Pandit was badly damaged, while an animal locked in the room of his house also died and a girl child received injures.
Kapil Dev Sharma’s new and pucca house which was not yet fully built, was badly damaged by the debris and boulders. Hearing the screams of the family members , the people of the area and the police reached the spot and shifted the family members to a safe place.
Officials said that the hill on which the landslide has occurred has developed cracks and there is every possibility of a yet another landslide. Due to this threat people of the entire Pandit locality have been removed from there and sent to a safer place. Landslides have occurred due to continuous rains.
