AKHNOOR, June 3: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta along with Dr. Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar and Revenue Department team here today visited village Balsaro and organised a Public Darbar there.
Issues raised in Public Darbar were lack of road connectivity from Balsaro to Thorani as the people have to trek 4.5 km to reach main road of Chowki Choura.
People of Ward No. 4, 5 and 6 of Balsaro village raised the issue of non-functioning of lift-irrigation system because of illegal-mining in the area.
A serious view of the matter was taken by the SDM and it was assured to take up the matter with Tehsildar, Pouni of Reasi district.
It was also assured to take up the matter with AEE, Jal Shakti for ensuring water-connections for 10 families of Miayari hamlet.
Residents of Ward No. 6 raised the issue of low voltage, due to which the children were unable to concentrate on their studies during evening hours. Demand for installation of a new transformer was raised.
Demand of repair of Govt Primary School, Miayari which developed cracks was also raised. The SDM exhorted upon the Sarpanch, Juthal-Balsaro for constructing a protection-wall for the house of one Dharam Chand.
It was urged to the young women of the area to form Self-Help Groups, so as to be able to generate certain amount of income through various schemes.
While concluding the tour, a visit inside the Western part of upcoming 2.8 km long Chowki Choura-Bhambla Tunnel was made along with its Project Manager and Site Incharge, Ankush Verma.
It shall be a great relief for daily-commuters thronging for Rajouri-Poonch from the zig-zag curves of this area which is also vulnerable to accidents.
