JAMMU, Dec 5: Dewan Badrinath (DBN) Vidya Mandir Amarvilla celebrated Annual Sports Day with pomp and show, in which students participated in various track and field events.
On the occasion, Prof Nirmal Singh, was the chief guest, who inaugurated the programme in presence of Major Vikram Singh Jamwal, Ujjwal Gupta and Rasheed, ex students, Leela Karan Sharma, Advisor, faculty members and students
The students from nursery to class 5th participated in cycle race, sack race, lemon race, three leg race, couple race, get ready and go race. The students of middle and high classes tried their skills in kabaddi, kho-kho and tug of war games.
On the occasion, some teachers, who have retired after putting in more than 25 years of service or who are still in service for more than 25 years were felicitated. These included KG Sawhney, Amrit Kour, Sudharshan Mengi, Subash Verma, Janak Gupta, D Zahoor, Tarsem Mahajan, Jyotsana Bhargava, Darshan Lal, Raju Sharma and Nandni Shukla.
The winners of the various sports events were also awarded with medals and trophies. Sanket and Vivasvan were declared best players of the year 2013.
Among others present were Rajendra Kakkar, Manager Trust, Ravinder Raina, Yashpal Puri, Suresh Sharma and Principal Dr Baljeet Singh
