AJKAC demands 50 bedded Ayush Hospital for Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 5: All J&K Ayurvedic Congress  (AJKAC) has urged the Health Minister, Shabir Ahmed Khan, to sanction a 50 bedded integrated Ayush Hospital at Jammu, as was done by him in Kashmir division.
The demand was put in front of the Health Minister here today by a delegation of the AJKAC in the form of a memorandum.
The delegation also requested the Health Minister to initiate process for bifurcation of present State level Directorate of Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and subsequently establishing provincial directorates.
To support its demand, the delegation cited that even State Finance Commission headed by Dr Mohmodur Rehman, constituted for restructuring and eradicating inadequacies in various departments, has also suggested bifurcation of present State level Directorate and establishment of provincial Directorates for ISM in the State.
The others demands highlighted by the delegation were provision of staff for 45 single handed dispensaries, regularization of nearly 75 newly opened dispensaries, provision of necessary technical staff for pioneer schemes like Panchkarma, Khyar Sutra and Pharmacy, administrative staff for newly created districts, opening of new dispensaries, provision of two posts of B grade specialists for each district and immediate election for Board of Ayurvedic and Unani System of Medicine.
Later the delegation, which comprised of Dr HN Patwari, Dr TR Gupta, Dr BR Sharma and Dr Ashok Gupta, met Commissioner/ Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Gazzanfer Hussain, and submitted a copy of the memorandum. The Commissioner assured that necessary action will be initiated in due course of time.
