POONCH, June 4: National Conference (NC) president for Pir Panjal Zone and former MLA Javed Ahmed Rana, has said that Jal Shakti Department has become totally defunct which is evident from the fact that the projects sanctioned under NABARD in this region are overlapping as a result of which the common people living in this region are suffering very badly.
In a statement issued to media here today, the senior NC leader stated that the people of the Pirpanjal region are facing severe drinking water crisis and despite approaching the concerned authorities of the Jal Shakti Department, the Chief Engineer PHE) is unmoved and is hesitant in coming out of the office and visiting Pirpanjal areas, thus leaving the people to the mercy of God.
Javed Rana while coming down heavily on the BJP Government at the Centre and its proxy Government in J&K said that tall claims are being made by them about “Har Ghar Jal” but the ground situation is quite contrary with the people of Pirpanjal region craving for drinking water with the concerned authorities in deep slumber.
