One killed, 2 injured in road accidents

SAMBA, June 5: A pedestrian was killed and two other persons were injured in two separate road accidents here on Monday.
According to police, a person crossing the road was hit by a motorcycle at Tapyal Morh after which both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian were seriously injured and were taken to Trauma Hospital Ghagwal with the help of locals and police.
Both were later on referred to Medical College and Hospital Jammu for better treatment.
One of the injured died on reaching Jammu and has been identified as Jasbir Singh son of Kulwant Singh, resident of Dalo, Gurdaspur, Punjab while the injured has been identified as Mohit Kumar son of Bishambhar Dass, resident of Nichla, Ghagwal.
Body of the deceased has been kept in mortuary for postmortem.
Police has registered a case and started investigation.
In another case, a bus and a truck collided on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Supwal area of Samba this morning, resulting in serious injuries to the bus driver.
The bus was a sleeper vehicle with number HR55AK-2087 and suffered severe damage and serious injuries to the driver.
The injured driver was immediately taken to hospital in Vijaypur for treatment and he has been identified as Satwinder Singh son of Surjit Singh, resident of Pouni.
