JAMMU, June 6: Turning tables on National Conference (NC), Congress and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), BJP national general secretary and in charge J&K, Tarun Chug accused them of creating a confusion among people about Assembly elections in J&K.
In an interview, Chug said whether NC vice president and former CM J&K, Omar Abdullah, Mufti family or Nehru Gandhi dynasties all are creating confusion about holding of Assembly elections and misleading people of J&K in this regard.
While responding to a question that Omar Abdullah has said holding Assembly elections is the right of J&K people and the Government was denying them this right, Chugh asked” Who is denying or snatching them this right., The Panchayat, local body BDC and DDC elections were held and people elected their representatives. But these parties boycotted the elections and still they blame BJP Government of not holding elections in the UT and depriving people of this right”, he added.
He said lakhs of electorate of the UT participated in these elections and elected their representatives so the question of denying the right does not arise.
The BJP national general secretary while lambasting these parties said that those who took advantage of boycott politics and remained in Government by seeking 500 votes are trying to mislead the people now.
Chugh said in DDC elections 20 lakh people cast their vote and elected 280 candidates. This was ever biggest participation of people in elections as they gained trust and faith in Modi Government and its developmental and progressive policies . Earlier half of the erstwhile State was boycotting elections. The people are now rejecting the negative policies of Abdullah’s and that no longer trust them, he added.
He said elections are to be announced by Election Commission of India and it has started the process in this regard. The voter lists revision has taken place and objections from political parties have been sought. The EC is on the job.
On the statement of Sam Pitroda that Ram Mandir construction will not provide jobs to people, Chugh said from development to keeping India’s culture and tradition alive has been the commitment of Modi Government and it is working on both the fronts. He said such statements given by Sam Pitroda is just to please Rahul Gandhi.
He said Congress was responsible for Ramjanambhoomi dispute which for seven decades kept the issue hanging in fire. Later gave affidavit in court and opposed Shilaniyas (laying of foundation stone). But Modi Government constructed temple, he added
Chugh said whether construction of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor or Ram Mandir we are committed to development. He said 1,45,555 kms long National Highway has been constructed and Great Britain which ruled India for 250 years has been surpassed by us as India emerged as fastest growing fifth economy of the world. “But I don’t understand why Congress leaders don’t see it”, he added.
Chugh on the unity move of various opposition parties against BJP as a run up to next year Lok Sabha poll said NDA Government is working day and night to solve the problems of country and its people. Today NDA is strong and many parties are solidly behind it.” We under the leadership of Modi will emerge successful in next elections and form Government for third consecutive term while the dream of those parties who wanted to install a weak Government at Centre will be shattered.
