JAMMU, June 6: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today held a protest at Jammu University over demands of paramedical students who are facing many problems due to delay in their examination results.
Scores of ABVP members today assembled near Administrative Block of University of Jammu and staged a sit-in protest. They said that the BSc Paramedical students of batch 2020-2021 of different colleges were admitted in the year 2020 and the annual examination of 1st year was conducted in the June-July 2022 and then the results of first year was declared in 2023 i.e. it took three years to complete first year.
“However students were provisionally promoted to 2nd year in the month of April 2022 and they also submitted admission fee which certain colleges had accepted,” the protesting ABVP members said and demanded to make all the students eligible to give 2nd year annual examination without any delay so that students can continue their studies without further delay. They said students should be allowed to sit in the second year exam while giving a chance to give supplementary exam also.
Speaking on the occasion, State secretary Akshi Billowria said today we held a symbolic protest against Controller of Examination and gave them time to address the demands of the paramedical students but if the University administration doesn’t consider this issue then ABVP J&K will hold strong agitation against the University.
ABVP Jammu University president Sunil Singh and State joint secretary Chahat Anand were also present on the occasion.
