Another Jhajjar Kotli accident victim succumbs; toll reaches 11

JAMMU, June 6: A 55-year-old man who was injured in a road accident at Jhajjar Kotli Area of this district on May 30 has succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College Jammu today, bringing the death toll in the accident to 11, according to the police.
They stated that Mahendra, son of Hazi Mistri (55) from Katihar, Bihar, was admitted to the hospital on May 30 after a passenger bus, en route to Katra from Amritsar, met with an accident at Jhajjar Kotli, resulting in the death of 10 persons and injuries to 64 others.
“He passed away at around 3:15 am,” said the police, adding that the body of the deceased has been moved to the hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
A case under relevant sections of the law has already been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
