Addressing a press conference at the Union office, NGEUJU president Vijay Kumar expressed anguish over the attitude adopted by the University authority towards their long pending demands.
Highlighting the employees’ demands viz. enhancement of Grade Pay of senior employees who have completed 27 years of service, up-gradation of Level-2 (Rs 19900-63200 to Level-4 (Rs 25500-81100), implementation of Grade pays 1800 approved by the University Council, counting of service/career advancement scheme for Helper, regularization of HGRC employees and regularization of seasonal labour engaged in Bhaderwah Campus under SRO-520, Kumar said the former Vice Chancellor had constituted a ‘Negotiation Committee’ to resolve the demands of employees.
He said that a meeting of the ‘Negotiation Committee’ and NGEU’ was held in the office chamber of the Registrar on 18-11-2020 vide letter number Estab/20/9357 dated 18-11-20 but the authority did not take keen interest to resolve the burning issues of the employees.
“We submitted several reminders to the authority from time to time to resolve these demands but authority did not take any interest in solving them. We also conducted a meeting of senior employees on 17-04-2023 during which it was resolved that if the demands of the employees are not fulfilled timely, university authority will be solely responsible for any untoward step taken by the Union,” Kumar added.
