Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar on his 57th death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 6: In connection with the death anniversary (Nirvan Divas) of Dr B R Ambedkar, several functions were organised across the region where people paid rich tributes to this great leader.
State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party organised a function in this connection at ITI complex R S Pura today. T D Langeh was the chief guest while district president Tilak Raj Bhagat presided over. R L Chargotra, Ajaib Singh Motton and B D Thapa were also present. The BSP leaders and other party workers paid floral tributes to the portrait of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
While speaking on the occasion Mr Langeh highlighted the achievements of Dr Ambedkar and his sacrifices for the community and down trodden members of the society. He described Dr Ambedkar as architect of Indian Constitution. Being first Law Minister of the country, he had contributed a lot in the field of social reforms and upliftment of the Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes. He also criticized the State Government for ignoring the reserved category people and not implementing Mandal Commission report here.
In yet another function organised at Ambedkar Chowk Jammu, Minister for Housing and Horticulture Raman Bhalla paid rich tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Dr Ambedkar was a towering leader of the country who played an important role for the welfare of the down trodden people in India. He showed them a path which not only led to their development but also the development of India.
Mr Bhalla said that Dr Ambedkar’s contribution is matchless and an inspiration for the entire world. A large number of people from Gandhi Nagar constituency and reserved category employees were present on the occasion. The function was organised by All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organizations led by R K Kalsotra. Swarn Lata vice chairperson SCs Advisory Board and R L Bharti retired IFS officer were also present. Members from Dalit Seana, Budha Samiti, Bhagat Mahasabha and All J&K Scheduled Caste Welfare Association were also present.
National Secular Front, University of Jammu organised a function at the Campus and paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar. Ankush Abrol an NC leader and social activist was the chief guest while Dr Vikas Sharma presided over. All the NSF activists and others paid their floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Ambedkar and recalled his contributions for the country and for the members of SC and OBC community.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) unit Udhampur also organised a function in connection with the death anniversary of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The function was held under the leadership of Sushant Gupta, president of Govt Degree College unit. The students pledged to work for the construction of the Society on the constructive ideologies of Father of Indian Constitution.
Lord Budha Club of India unit Kathua organised a function in collaboration with All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organizations today. The members paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar and recalled his contribution for the society. The function was held at Ambedkar Chowk Kathua in which a large number of people participated.
