JAMMU, June 8: DIG Traffic Jammu, Shridhar Patil, today visited the Chenani-Dalwas area of National Highway in Udhampur and Ramban Districts to assess the traffic arrangements in light of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
As per a statement, the purpose of the visit was to address the issue of slow-moving vehicles caused by recent landslides in the area.
Accompanying the DIG were SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma, SSP Traffic NHW, Rohit Baskotra, and SSP Udhampur, Vinod Kumar. After conducting the spot inspection, a new strategy was devised to alleviate congestion.
Later, a detailed meeting was held at the Range HQ Batote in the office of Sunil Gupta, Range DIG Doda-Kishtwar- Ramban. The SSP Traffic NHW and SSP Ramban were also present during the meeting.
Upon their return, a comprehensive meeting took place in the office of Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, Range DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, to implement measures for optimal traffic movement in and around Udhampur.
The meeting focused on formulating a detailed traffic plan for the regular release of traffic and the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The traffic and district police in Udhampur and Ramban have pledged their best efforts to ensure safe and convenient travel for the people.
