Srinagar, June 8: In preparation for the upcoming North Zone NeoCon-2023, the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag today organized a series of pre-conference workshops across various hospitals in Kashmir.
The workshops aimed to equip healthcare professionals with the latest advancements and evidence-based practices in neonatal care.
The North Zone NeoCon-2023, scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 10, 2023, at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, marks the first-ever zonal Neocon to be held in J&K
With the objective of enhancing neonatal healthcare in the region, the pre-conference workshops were conducted at prominent medical institutions, including GMC Anantnag, GMC Srinagar, GMC Baramulla, JLNM Hospital, and Noora Hospital Srinagar.
The workshops covered a wide range of crucial topics related to neonatal health and medical practice, including neonatal resuscitation, neonatal ventilation, quality improvement, neonatal nursing, and common neonatal health issues and interventions.
Renowned neonatologists from across the country led the workshops, ensuring that participants received the most up-to-date knowledge and skills required to improve neonatal care and outcomes.
“The workshops were designed to update healthcare professionals with the latest evidence-based practices and equip them with the necessary skills to improve neonatal care and outcomes,” stated Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neonatologist at GMC Anantnag.
The workshops were met with enthusiasm and appreciation by the participants, who expressed their satisfaction with the educational content and its practical applicability.
Dr. Ashraf Bhat, local coordinator for the basic NRP workshop, shared his experience, stating, “The workshops were very informative and helpful. I learned a lot about neonatal assessment and management, and I am confident that this knowledge will help me improve the care of my patients.”
