JAMMU, June 9: Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna (BCS) unveiled the official poster for the highly anticipated fifth edition of the Chitra Bharati Film Festival (CBFF) during a special event held at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) campus in Jammu.
The festival is scheduled to take place in Panchkula, Haryana, from the 23rd to the 25th of February 2024. CBFF, known for its national film festivals organized biennially, aims to promote the creation and screening of films that celebrate India’s ancient knowledge, values, art, culture, heritage, civilization, history, dialects, and languages.
Dignitaries and esteemed guests, including Prof Anil Saumitra, Regional Director of IIMC Jammu, Retired Principal District & Sessions Judge Suresh Kumar Sharma, Manas Bhattachariee from Vivekananda Kendra, and Sant Kumar Sharma, the Academic Advisor of IIMC Jammu, joined other notable personalities and members of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna J&K in releasing the CBFF 2024 poster.
The release coincided with a panel discussion on ‘Diversity, Inclusion & Mutual Respect,’ organized in collaboration between IIMC Jammu and Vivekanand Kendra, Jammu, held at the IIMC Campus.
Nidhi Sharma, associated with Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna, addressed the esteemed gathering of intellectuals and journalism students from IIMC, emphasizing that CBFF serves as a platform and gateway for budding talents to thrive in the film industry.
She urged aspiring filmmakers to make full use of this opportunity and encouraged IIMC journalism students to actively participate in the festival, which is poised to become a prominent platform for emerging filmmakers in the near future.
It was also disclosed during the programme that film submissions for the festival will be accepted from 1st September 2023 until midnight on 30th November 2023. The CBFF-2024 will feature films in four categories: Documentary, Short Film, Children’s Film, and Campus Film.
The festival will explore various themes, including women empowerment, employment generation, harmony, environment, future bharat, tribal society, rural development, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The Children’s Film category will focus on the courageous children, innovation in child education, and moral education. Winners across categories will be awarded a total cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
