Cardamom weakens on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 7: In thin trading, cardamom prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Elsewhere, other spices remained steady on scattered demand.
Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold fell by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 670-770, Rs 610-710, Rs 660-710 and Rs 810-910 per kg, respectively.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,000-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 520-650, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 950-1,030 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-770, cardamom (colour robin) 610-710, cardamom bold 660-710, cardamom extra (bold) 810-910 and cloves (kg) 850-950. (PTI)
