JAMMU, June 10: National Awami United Party (NAUP) general secretary of women wing Shikha Bandral today said that students are worried as they are getting CUET examination centres outside the Union Territory in Jalandhar, Amritsar or Himachal Pradesh but the LG administration is sleeping over the issue.
Addressing a press conference at party head office here today, Shikha Bandral said that the LG Administration is totally failed to take up the issue of our students for their CUET exams with central agencies who are conducting the said exams outside Jammu province.
“Most of the students are coming from very remote areas and not too much aware of travelling outside Jammu, so their parents are accompanying them. They are going one day in advance with their wards and staying in hotels/lodges or at Railways Platforms,” she alleged.
Bandral said all the newspapers are highlighting this issue but no one from his administration has come forward to solve the issue. Students and parents are worried but the LG administration appears to have gone in sleeping mode, she added.
She said NAUP is the first political party who raised the issues of student community but where are main stream political parties who show their fake interest for Jammu people. Bandral appealed to LG Manoj Sinha to raise the student issues with Education Ministry as well as Prime Minister and stop allotting exam centres outside Jammu.
NAUP leaders Pinki Bhagat and Devo Devi were also present on the occasion.
