JAMMU, June 11: A round table conference was organised at Hamirpur Kona in Khour by Dalits (SCs), OBCs and other minorities wherein, the issues of these communities were discussed.
The conference/ meeting was held under the banner of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organisations. RK Kalsotra , president of the Confederation along with his team attended the programme besides others.
Kalsotra presented the National and State agenda which included – protection of constitution and democracy, naming of new Parliament building on the name of Dr B R Ambedkar, stoppage of EVM, collegium system and resevation in Jusiciary and higher education, stoppage of privatisation, restoration of Statehood, 27 % quota as per Mandal Commission Report, Prohibition of atrocities on minorities, reinstatement of backlog posts etc.
A large number of men and women comprising of Panchs and Sarpanchs who participated in Conference assured to fully support the agenda of the Confederation and assured in future they will strengthen the movement and even participate on Bahujan Sansad at Delhi.
On the occasion several resolutions were adopted and passed with majority support.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Ex- Sarpanch Gopal Dass, Suraj Parkash, Capt Ramesh Chander, Janak Raj, Sat Pal, Ritik Jangral, Karan Kumar, Tota Ram and Rashpal Chand.
