JAMMU, Dec 7: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) has demanded regularization of all the daily wagers and framing of a solid policy to penalize power thieves.
In a meeting of the Union members held here today, provincial president P C Sharma pointed out that in 1981, the PDD was partially recognized and till date even after a span of 35 years no reorganization took place. Much infrastructure has been increased but adequate manpower was not enhanced. Daily wagers and need base workers were running the department. He also demanded regularization of all the daily rated/ consolidated workers. He demanded to keep check on power theft and penalize the defaulters and power thieves.
G M Tantray, Hardarshan Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Bishan Singh and others also spoke on the occasion.
