6 arrested for illegal mining in Baramulla

Srinagar, June 12: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today arrested 6 persons and seized as many vehicles in Baramulla.
A police party of PS Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg seized three vehicles (tippers) and arrested three persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Bungam Kunzer.
“They have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Malik, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Pariswani, Shabir Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Ratnipora & Firdous Ahmad Magray, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Chandil Wanigam,” police said.
Moreover, a police party of PP Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan seized 3 vehicles (tippers) and arrested 3 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khanpeth.
“They have been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Reshi, son of Ghulam Ahmad Reshi, resident of Hanjiwera, Umar Nabi Parray, son of Ghulam Nabi Parray resident of Gokhama Kunzer & Jahangir Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Hassan Shah, resident of Batpora Kunzer,”
Accordingly, police said, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated.
