JAMMU, June 12: Senior BJP leader and District Development Councillor of Maira Mandrian (in Akhnoor), Suresh Sharma today started blacktopping work of PMGSY road from Kapain-di-Ban to Fagal Jhang of Panchayat Gangal in block Chowki Choura.
The work shall be completed at an expenditure of Rs. 4.71 crore and will be very useful for the development of many backward and remote villages of Chowki Choura block that were deprived of road connectivity earlier.
Speaking on the occasion, the Councillor said, it was the long pending demand of the public of the area which has been fulfilled.
He said that it is the top priority of PM Modi led government to provide road connectivity to each village for appropriate development and benefit of government schemes.
Sharma ensured the public that construction work of some more new roads will also be started in Chowki Choura in coming days.
He also talked about schemes like PM Kissan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana, Ladli Beti, Awas Yojana, Sukanya Yojana, Widow Pension etc to empower the poor people.
“Many mega projects like four lanning of Jammu-Poonch Highway, construction of tunnels, AIIMS, IIM etc have also been started in J&K,” the BJP leader maintained.
AEE PMGSY, Ravi Sharma; JE, Jitender Singh; Sarpanch, Tarlochan Dutt; former Sarpanch, Milki Ram; Panch, Ram Gopal; Mandal secretary, Rakesh Sharma, Titru Ram, Gushu Ram and others were also present on this occasion.
