UDHAMPUR, June 12: A young woman was critically injured after being attacked by a bear at village Kultiyar in Panchari area in District Udhampur, here today.
According to the reports, the bear attacked domestic animal near her house and when the victim came forward to save them, the bear attacked the woman left her seriously injured.
The villagers shifted the injured woman to local PHC where doctors referred her to District Hospital Udhampur. The victim was identified as More Devi (40), wife of Jeevan Lal of Kultiyar Tehsil Panchari.
Locals said that there have been a number of such incidents of wild animal attack during the last five month but there had been no response from the Wildlife Department despite repeated requests.
