JAMMU, June 13: Bahujan Samaj Party J&K today urged upon the higher authorities to clear MGNREGA liabilities created in various Panchayats.
A meeting of the party was held at RS Pura under the leadership of Darshan Rana general secretary. It was organized by Assembly Committee RS Pura- Jammu South.
While speaking on the occasion, Rana spoke about the problems faced by Panchayats in J&K. He said the material liabilities of MGNREGA for the year 2016-17, 2017-18 has not been paid till date just because of the negligence of concerned authorities. Many contractors are facing hardships due to non-payments.
The BSP leader urged the Lt Governor to intervene in this matter and ensure clearance of pending payments.
He also referred to electricity problem being faced by people of RS Pura, Suchetgarh and adjoining areas because this is the high time for cultivation of rice which is the most prominent product and exported outside.
Raja Singh spoke about the overall injustice with students of J&K by this LG Admin as this for the first time when students will go out of the state for CUET.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included- Bishan Dass, Janak Raj, Raj Kumar, Tarsem Lal, Rattan Lal, Harbans Lal, Master Ved Parkash, Sham Lal and others.
