Five-day course on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, June 13: In order to equip the Investigating Officers of J&K Police with the knowledge and skill of detecting and investigating the growing cases of Cyber Crime, five days course on, “Investigation of Cyber Crime” commenced today at SKPA.
The course has been designed with the objective to improve the knowledge and skills of participants while investigating the Cybercrime & Cyber fraud cases. During this 5- day course the participants will be able to understand implications of Cyber Crime and legal measures to counter it and understand Cyber Forensic & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for investigation of Cyber Crime cases.
An inaugural function was organized at SKPA wherein SSP Rajinder Gupta, Dy Director, SKPA, was the chief guest. He welcomed the participants on behalf of Director SKPA. In his inaugural address, Gupta, gave the over view of Cyber Crime like Cyber Bullying, Stalking, Online Job fraud, online Sextortion, Wishing, Phishing, Ransomware, Works, Virus & Trojans, Cyber-Squatting, Cryto-Jacking and Espionage. He also spoke about the ever increasing frequency of Crime in virtual space and called for need to enable Law enforcement officials to investigate the crime in Cyber space.
The eminent guest speakers from Central University Jammu, IIT Jammu, professionals from Cyber Police Station Jammu, Nayeem Abass Hamdani, Cyber Consultant and faculty from SKPA will deliver lectures to the participants. Hands on session are also arranged for the participants.
The inaugural session was also attended by Dy SP Sunmati Gupta, Asstt Director and faculty of SKPA. The course is being coordinated by Inspr Rohit Gupta, assisted by HC Randip Singh.
