Drug peddler held with heroin

JAMMU, June 14: Police today claimed that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 9 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal, SI Lalit Sharma, on patrolling duty at Rajiv Nagar area rounded up a suspected person.
During search of the suspect identified as Vishal Mehra of Rajeev Nagar, he said, 9 grams of heroin was recovered.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 172/2023 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort.
Further investigations are on, added the police spokesperson.
