MIMC to organize week-long Intl Festival of Yoga & Meditation from June 20-26

LEH, June 15: Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Saboo-Dho is organizing a week-long International Festival of Yoga and Meditation from June 20 to 26.
This was disclosed by Bhikkhu Sanghsena, founder of MIMC while addressing a press conference, here today. He further revealed that LG Ladakh brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retired) has consented to be chief guest on the occasion while Union Ministers Arjuan Ram Meghwal and Raj Kumar Ranjan are expected to be the guests of honour. He added that prominent dignitaries including Dr Kiran Bedi (former LG Pondicherry), Dr D R Karthikeyan (former CBI Director) are also attending the event.
Sanghsena shared that their Yoga and Meditation Centre, which is now recognized by Union Ministry of AYUSH, will be inaugurated on June 25 by Dr IV Basavaraddi (Director, Morarji Dasai National Institute of Yoga. He said an MoU between MIMC and Morarji Dasai National Institute of Yoga will be also signed on the occasion.
He further informed that after the week-long Yoga Festival, a Padyatra, prayer for world peace and an international conference on world peace shall be organized from July 15 to 18. “While the Padyatra will be organized on July 15 and the peace conference will be conducted on July 17.
“The Padyatra is a spiritual journey embarked upon by thousands of monks, nuns and lay devotees. Around 170 monks from Thailand and India along with 70 lay devotees have embarked on this one-month long Padyatra which started from Dharamshala (HP) on June 10. They will arrive in Leh on July 15 where thousands of people from across Ladakh are expected to join them in the last stretch of the Padyatra,” he added.
Sanghsena said that next two days will be amalgamated with special prayers for world peace at Shanti Stupa and an international conference on world peace.
