JAMMU, June 15: Four persons including two women were killed while three others were injured in two separate road accidents in Budhal area of Rajouri and Chhatroo area of Kishtwar today.
Reports from Rajouri said that three persons were killed and two others injured when a car in which they were travelling, fell into a deep gorge near Targain village in remote Budhal area of Rajouri district this morning.
The mishap took place at around 7.35 am when the ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK11F- 8759 was on way to Samote from Targain village. The vehicle had hardly covered some distance, when the driver lost control over and it fell into a deep gorge.
SHO Budhal, Inspector Nikku Ram said that two people died on the spot, who have been identified as Shah Jahan wife of Mohammad Nazir and Shenaz Akhter wife of Mohammad Altaf Shah. He said the injured identified as Ayoub Shah son of Nabi Shahwaz succumbed to injuries in GMC, Rajouri.

He further disclosed that Akbar Shah son of Mehandi Shah, was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment and a ten-month-old baby girl, Shahnaz Akhtar, daughter of Altaf Shah was under treatment in GMC Rajouri.
Immediately after mishap, the injured were shifted to CHC Kandi by the locals and police team led by SHO Budhal. The injured after first-aid at CHC Kandi were referred to GMC’s Associated Hospital Rajouri. Police have registered a case vide FIR number 47/2023 u/s 279, 337 and investigation started.
Another report from Kishtwar said that the driver was killed and co-passenger critically injured, when a private car fell into a deep gorge in Sinthan Top area during morning hours today.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the vehicle bearing registration No. JK04D/5019 was on way to Kishtwar from Anantnag side. At a sharp curve, the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge.
The mishap took place at around 8 am and somebody spotted the vehicle rolling down and informed police. The Army men from the nearby unit also reached there. The injured were rescued and shifted to Chhatroo hospital where one of them was declared as brought dead. He was identified as Latief Ahmed Malik, son of Abdul Rashid Malik, resident of Anantnag. The injured identified as Mohd Amir Wani, son of Mohd Ilyas Wani, resident of Batpora in Anantnag was shifted to GMC Anantnag. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
