JAMMU, June 16: Dogra Law College today hosted Senior Supreme Court advocate Dr Adish C Aggarwala, President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and President International Council of Jurists for an interactive session.
Accompanied by a delegation of advocates and members of the All India Bar Association, Dr Aggarwala was warmly welcomed by Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of the Dogra Educational Trust, Dr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of the Dogra Educational Trust, and Prof Darshana Sharma, Director of the Dogra Group of Colleges.
The event commenced with a floral welcome extended to the distinguished guests and an introduction of the proceedings by Danish Tak, a student from the 5-year BA LL.B 2nd Semester.
A tribute to Goddess Saraswati was paid through the ceremonial lighting of a lamp. Professor VP Magotra, Principal of Dogra Law College, cordially welcomed all the esteemed guests and dignitaries present, setting the stage for a mesmerizing interactive session on the career choices and professional ethics of an advocate.
Dr Aggarwala emphasized the obligation of advocates to comply with the law and uphold the standards of professional ethics, thereby contributing to the administration of justice.
He stressed the importance of maintaining personal dignity and honor, urging the students to embrace these values. The students actively participated in the session, displaying their enthusiasm and admiration for the esteemed guest.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak presided over the program and urged the students to nurture and enhance their talents and potential to make a meaningful impact on the nation. He highlighted the famous dictum of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing the significance of living a purposeful life rather than one of ignorance and stagnation.
Advocate Nar Hari Singh, former Additional Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir, spoke about the pivotal role of lawyers in society, highlighting the core principles of integrity, innovation, and invention that underpin a successful legal career.
As a mark of recognition, Dr Adish C Aggarwala conferred distinguished membership of the International Council of Jurists upon the management, faculty, and all members of the student council.
