JAMMU, June 16: Workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DF&SS) J&K under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta here today took out a protest rally against power curtailment.
The protesters carried table fans and empty, buckets to express the plight of a common man.
Addressing protesters Ashok Gupta said that summer is at its peak and the people are suffering due to scheduled as well as un-scheduled power cuts.
He said that Jammu pays a revenue of Rs. 2050 crore and Kashmir only Rs. 1400 crore but still that region gets more power supply than Jammu.
“Power curtailment also affects water supply and the situation becomes worse due to unscheduled power cuts and non-availability of water,” Gupta maintained requesting J&K LG for personal intervention in this regard.
He said that the Government should start investing in solar power projects as Jammu receives ample amount of sunlight.
Abhishek, Sunil, Rajkumar, Sanju, Rahul, Dinesh, Ajay, Vikas, Bantu, Prem, Rampal, Kalu and others were also present in the protest.
