JAMMU, June 18: All India Backward Classes Union has asked the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC ) to issue the reservation data of BJP ruled States, including Jammu Kashmir Union Territory.
“Chairman NCBC has issued its findings over the OBC reservation of the only non-BJP ruled States viz West Bengal, Rajasthan, Punjab and Bihar where there is quota less than @27% as per the apex court’s judgement of 1992, but there is no mention of the States like Jammu & Kashmir where BJP itself is ruling,” said Prof Kali Das, general secretary of AIBCU.
In a press statement, he lamented that even after abrogation of Article 370, OBCs of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their fundamental right of 27 percent reservation. “Union Govt has implemented all Central rules after abrogation of Art 370 except reservation rules for OBCs, a deliberate attempt to loot OBCs in J&K,’ he alleged and added that this was also not in tune with” Ek Desh… Ek Qanoon….. UCC.
Prof Kali Dass said that the Government should not criticise the selective State Govts but also take up the matter of other States on the whole with less reservation or no reservation like Jammu and Kashmir where BJP is itself ruling and Art 370 has been abrogated for smooth implementation of all Central rules.
“OBCs of J&K must be aware of their constitutional rights and should remain alert from the cheating agencies which have been doing nothing except false promises and false assurances,” he said.
