UDHAMPUR, June 19: A street vendor was found dead in Tawi River near Ritti village, here today.
The deceased was identified as Sohan Lal Sharma (34), son of Mulkh Raj Sharma, resident of Ritti, Udhampur, who was a street vendor and sold Kulfis (ice cream) at Ramnagar Chowk.
His body was found in Tawi River under mysterious circumstances. On being informed, a team from Udhampur Police station rushed to the spot shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem.
Exact cause of death could not be immediately ascertained while Police has registered a case under section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
