JAMMU, Dec 9: CJM Ramban, M R Chak today awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000 to Karnail Singh, son of Brij Lal of Ramban, who was facing trial in a case of illegal possession/ black marketing of kerosene oil.
After hearing Senior PO Sajad Ahmed for the State whereas Advocate ZA Lone for the accused, CJM Ramban observed, “it is proved that accused was in possession of seized property without lawful authority. The argument of counsel for the accused that there are major discrepancies, which seriously tell upon the merits of the case, is not tenable”.
