Govt harassing migrants in camps

JAMMU, June 20: Supporting the sentiments of the families of the Hindus killed in Dangri by Jihadi terrorists who recently expressed their utter disappointment on the failure of the Government to bring the perpetrators of massacre to justice and showed anguish over the misleading normalcy rant of the Governments in UT and the Centre, Panun Kashmir (PK) today made it clear in unequivocal terms that tourism will defeat terrorism is a dangerous delusion cultivated by the UT Government and the Centre.
Nowhere in the world has terrorism been defeated by tourism or massive overdoses of developmental funds and activity, PK chairman, Dr Ajay Chrungoo told reporters here today.
Chrungoo, who was flanked by PK activists Bihari Lal Koul, Satish Sher and Pran Koul said terrorism has to be defeated militarily along with the total uprooting of its all support structures. Click here to watch video
PK is appalled to see the same policy paradigm followed by the present Governments of UT and the Centre that guided its predecessors, Chrungoo added.
Pumping massive development funds, tourists or profuse employment drives with focus on those parts of Jammu and Kashmir where terrorist nurseries and separatist sentiment has been flourishing have failed squarely in dousing the terrorist separatist scourge, he said.
He said the areas of J&K where society has resisted the separatist temptations and campaigns have been reduced to areas of secondary preference as well as huge discrimination.
PK warned the Government that the din created around increased tourism to Kashmir and systematic hyper publicity about routine religious activity of Hindus living in Valley has only increased the vulnerability of both normal tourists and hapless Hindus living in Kashmir at the present.
He said the Government and particularly the security establishment should take notice of the thrusts of terrorism in the region from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir and rest of India have been guided by Takfiri ideology. These thrusts aim at creating ungovernable areas and destroying even the relationship of its support bases with normal economic activity.
He demanded that GoI to take notice of growing Narco terrorist enterprise in the State and act decisively and concertedly to destroy it. The Government should take notice of the growing grave dangers to soft targets particularly in the Valley be it Hindus living there or the tourists going there believing that Jammu and Kashmir is a normal tourist destination.
The PK leader also expressed its dismay over the Government’s apathy towards displaced Pandits especially those dependent on cash relief. He said it is unfortunate that the Government instead of increasing their cash relief has subjected them to harassment and humiliation by forcing the camp inmates to pay electricity charges.
