Jammu, June 20: Universal Film Makers Council (UFMC) and Harman Cultural & Educational Society (HC&ES) that is jointly organizing a mega International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Spiritual Growth Center, Katra, Jammu in month of August 5 and 6, today announced first momentous K L Saigal Award for International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir and called upon the people of UT to join the extravaganza for bigger participation.
While addressing a press conference at Jammu, Universal Film Makers Council, President, Dr. M A Mummigatti, a world renowned iconic figure in cinema promotion said that his vision is to bring all regional and India cinema under one ambit for collective prosperity. “Jammu and Kashmir is land of diverse beauty and intellect and conducting a festival here would send a message globally about peace and tranquility existing here.”
Dr. M. A. Mummigatti was flanked on dais with a renowned Kannada Actor Jai Prabhu who has come to Jammu to announce big film project here. Gurvinder Kour , General Secretary HC&ES also shared the dais on the occasion.
He said that for organizing festivals and screening of films in Jammu, the entries for the same can be watched on the official website www.ufmc.org .in where the filmmakers may submit their films at the earliest.
Elaborating over the varied number of awards and prizes of the show, Dr. M. A. Mummigatti said that IFFJK would pioneer in raising the first ever K L Saigal Award from Jammu which would be a global insignia for all festivals and the honour would be bestowed upon big celebrities of Bollywood and cinema world.
“It is for the first time in the history of Indian Cinema that K L Saigal Award has been constituted and I feel privileged to have it started from Jammu, “said Dr. M. A. Mummigatti adding UFMC’s associates include top directors like Ramesh Sippy, Subhash Ghai and South Celebrity Star Suman Talwar who completed 700+ Films in Multi Language and other directors of their ilk who are connected with his endeavors and are always at a hands support to raise the cinema at higher zeniths.
Big stars from Bollywood as well as from South will be reaching Jammu during August International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir. Jai Prabhu, the rising super star of Kannada movies while speaking on the occasion said that he along with Dr. M. A. Mummigatti has planned worldwide expression of cinema throughout and is looking forward to Jammu and Kashmir for new ventures.
“Already my two feature movies are due for release this month and I have come here to explore possibilities for film making in diverse locales of Jammu,” said Jai Prabhu.
He said soon after the culmination of IFFJK, he would be announcing a feature film to be shot in Jammu and South in collaboration with artists, technicians and others.
