JAMMU, June 21: To celebrate the “World Music Day” and to promote the Duggar traditional culture of J&K, in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production today presented Dogri Musical Concert , “Rangila Duggar” at open air theatre Durga Bhawan , Janipur here.
The sole purpose of this program was rejuvenating the traditional, primitive folk, art, culture of J&K region, specially prepared on the theme of women status, National integration and world peace. The program was inaugurated by VK Magotra, Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India and Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government.
The day commemorated as ” World Music Day “, the Folk songs and skits specially produced on the theme were presented. The music was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS. The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such program colorful and effective.
The professional artistes said we all celebrate the power of music in our daily lives and its ability to unite people across cultures. It was originated in France in 1982 and is celebrated annually on June 21. World Music Day is an opportunity for people around the world to come together and celebrate the power of music.
“A pledge to make Yoga an Integral part of our daily life” was also taken by the artistes and associates.
Earlier, ML Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan highlighted the importance of the World Music Day, in cities around the world. Music is often used as a therapy for its soothing power. According to experts, Music helps lower stress, it helps people sleep better. Therapists use music to treat people with mental health issues, music helps children, with learning disorder, concentrate on their work.
Rajni Gupta, troupe incharge BLSKS, explained aims and objectives of the program which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society in her key note address, and highlighted various aspects of play for mass awareness.
