KISHTWAR, June 21: The people whose land has been acquired by for the construction of Rattle Hydro Electric Project in Darbshalla area of Kishtwar district have not been paid compensation till date which has generated a lot of resentment among them.
Tilk Shan, president Shiv Sena Chenab Valley has taken up issue with project authorities urging them to release the compensation to the affected families without any delay. He said it is imperative that Rehabilitation and Resettlement Plan is to be implemented by the power project authorities before starting the work while in case of Rattle Project this procedure was totally ignored. He said 275 families affected with the construction of the project are running from pillar to post for compensation but to no avail as nobody in the project administration is going to listen to them.
Shan in an appeal to Project authorities has urged them to implement the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Plan without further delay. He has also sought the intervention of the district administration in the matter.
