Srinagar, Dec 9: Police in Srinagar recovered huge quantity of explosives from a vehicle near Parimpora Bypass today.
Sources said that a car bearing registration number JK01 R 4818 was intercepted by police near Parimpora bypass in Srinagar and 10.5 kilogramme explosive packed in a packet was recovered from it.
The driver of the car, Hilal Ahmad, was detained by the police and the car was seized. Sources said that the explosive was meant for one Bilal Ahmad, a car dealer in Srinagar.
Police have sent the explosive for testing to the testing laboratory and have started the investigations.
Sources said that Hilal has not revealed the name of the person who handed over him the explosive packet.
