No Confidence Motion sought against AP MPs, LS adjourned for day

NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day today as a No Confidence Motion was sought to be moved against three Andhra Pradesh members, including one from the ruling Congress.
The members against whom the motion was sought to be moved were R Sambasiva Rao (Congress), K Narayana Rao (TDP) and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy (YSR Congress), Lok Sabha sources said.
These members were protesting against formation of Telangana State from Andhra Pradesh.
When the House re-assembled at 1200 hrs after its disruption during Question Hour, it again witnessed chaos and disorder with members entering the Well of the House.
Speaker Meira Kumar appealed to them to bring the House in order as she had received a No Confidence Motion.
“I cannot take up the matter unless there is order in the House,” she added.
Many of those in the Well, however, moved back to their seats but the DMK members remained there protesting against India’s proposal to train the Sri Lankan Navy when Tamils in the neighbouring island were being targeted for discrimination.
The Speaker unable to see any hope of bringing the House in order adjourned the House for the day. (AGENCIES)
