RAJOURI, June 22: A 12-year-old boy died after drowning in Rajouri river in Kheora area of Rajouri this afternoon.
Reports said that a boy drowned while taking bath in the river at Kheora in Rajouri town today. On receiving information about the incident police party from Rajouri Police Station led by SHO Insp Shokat Hussain rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and after hectic efforts boy was evacuated and shifted to GMC Rajouri where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Medical Superintendent GMC Rajouri, Dr Mehmood Ahmed told that despite best efforts by the doctors the boy could not be saved. Dr Mehmood identified the deceased as Shahid Ali, son of Sonu Ali, a resident of Kotranka.
The body after performing medical formalities was handed over to the family, the police said.
