Durganagar, adjoining areas residents seek LG’s intervention

JAMMU, June 23: A meeting of Durganagar and Dogranagar Welfare Committees Sector-1, Sector-2, Sector-3, and adjoining areas was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina president, Sector-1 and Sector-3 ,Sanjay Ganjoo president Sector-2 and its extension and M.K.Razdan general secretary Welfare Committee Dogranagar.
The meeting highlighted the order issued by PDD authorities regarding prepaid electric recharge system only in Durganagar and adjoining areas falling under Ward-64. In this connection public is confused how to deposit electric bills as PDD officials stopped distribution of Electric Bills in our area from last month.
Majority of people are not aware about mobile recharge system.
People of area demanded that PDD should adopt previous system of depositing electric bills instead of prepaid recharge system.
The meeting discussed that Feeder Number RN6 which is too overloaded and due to overload every time there is tripping problem in the Grid Station and the areas which is on feeder RN6 have to face problem of unscheduled power cuts in this heat wave. The meeting said people are annoyed with the system of PDD and say even after paying huge bills they have to face problems due to negligence of the Department.
As the feeder is catering large area so every time there is problem of tripping and unscheduled power cuts.
The meeting demanded that there should be load bifurcation and separate feeder for overloaded area.
It further said entire area of Durganagar is facing acute water crisis in these hot Summer days. There is gap of 5-6 days in water supply and every time the people are being assured that they will get water on alternate basis.
The meeting sought intervention of LG and urged him to issue directives to the concerned so that residents have not to suffer more.
