JAMMU, June 23: Virender Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chowki Choura alongwith Horticulture Development Officer, Akhnoor, Cluster Head of National Rural Livelihood Mission accompanied with its Revenue team held a Public Darbar at village Rah, the Western-most tail end of Jammu district, conjoining with Rajouri district.
A large number of inhabitants of Panchayats Rah and Salyote assembled, there who projected their genuine demands. One of the participants, urged for upgradation of existing transformer at village Hardu Malara of Rah Panchayat as they are facing a lot of difficulties due to low-voltage in the area, to which it was assured that the matter shall be taken up with the Executive Engineer, PDD, Sunderbani for its immediate upgradation.
A patient hearing was given to the participants as their grievances were tried to be solved on the spot. The accompanying Horticulture Development Officer, Akhnoor also made the participants aware about their various farmer-based Govt schemes. The Cluster Head of NRLM assured for full cooperation to make Self-Help Groups so as to earn their livelihood.
To promulgate the venture of District Administration for creating an environ of sports awareness amongst the young generation, the SDM distributed various sports items to young participants of C-Dyte-presently functioning at Rah-Salyote. The working members of a “We Care Welfare Society” called on the SDM. The said NGO is organising health checkups, mainly for underprivileged and poor families. It was decided that on July 7, a free Medical Camp shall be held at GHS School, Chowki Choura.
It was divulged that free-of-cost eye-glasses shall be distributed to the needy ones including Cataract eye-surgeries shall be ensured without any expenditure (with to & fro conveyance facility). The SDM exhorted upon the BDO, Chowki Choura to inform the public accordingly through PRIs and others.
