Odisha Govt inks MoU for development of PSPs, renewable energy

JAMMU, June 24: Odisha Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NHPC Limited through GRIDCO Limited for the “Development of Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) and renewable energy” in the State of Odisha.
A press statement said that the MoU was signed in presence of Nikunja B Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Energy, Government of Odisha-cum-chairman, GRIDCO and Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC Limited.
The MoU was signed by Rajesh Gupta, Executive Director (SBD&C), NHPC and Trilochan Panda, Managing Director, GRIDCO Limited. Other senior officers from both the organisations also marked their presence on the occasion.
The MoU envisages setting up of Self-identified Pumped Storage Projects of at least 2000 MW and setting up of renewable energy projects (ground mounted solar projects/floating solar projects) of 1000 MW or above in the State of Odisha.
