Theft case worked out, stolen mobiles recovered

JAMMU, June 24: Police claimed to have worked out a theft case by recovering several stolen mobile phones worth around Rs 15 to 16 lakhs from a mother-son duo here.
A police spokesperson said that multiple complaints of theft of mobile phones were registered at Police Post Narwal.
Acting on the written complaints, he said, teams of Police Post Narwal, led by SDPO East, Zaheer Abbas Jafari, assisted by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal, SI Lalit Sharma, conducted extensive investigations by analyzing the CCTV footages of different areas, and finally rounded up a woman, identified as Shakeela Devi of Rajiv Nagar and her son Vinay Kumar, police said.
“Upon questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the thefts. On their disclosure, 40 mobile phones worth around Rs 15-16 lakhs were recovered,” said police.
The accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the law and further investigation taken up. The entire operation was supervised by SP South Shaheen Wahid.
