POONCH, June 24: A pregnant lady died due to absence of the doctor and pharmacist in Primary Health Centre (PHC) Mendhar.
According to the reports, a pregnant woman was shifted to PHC Mendhar by her family members when she fainted at her residence last night. However, to their surprise no doctor or any pharmacist was available in the Hospital to provide any type of medical treatment to the sick woman.
As per the reports, even ambulance was not available in the Hospital to shift the patient to any other hospital. Finally, the woman was shifted to Sub District Hospital Mendhar in a Tata Mobile but due to loss of precious time at PHC Mendhar, the woman died at SDH Mendhar.
The family members expressed their resentment and lodged a verbal complaint to BMO Mendhar Dr Ashfaq Choudhary, who said that the action against the doctor as well as the pharmacist will be taken for their unauthorized absence from their duties at PHC Mankote.
