KATHUA, June 25: A total of six loaded dumpers involved in mineral theft were seized by District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua, Rajinder Singh at Keerian Gandial near here, today.
The dumpers were earlier stopped by local people at Gandial which were later on seized by Geology and Mining Department in the presence of police party due to non availability of e-challans with them.
DMO informed that the seized vehicles bearing Registration Nos-PB06AV- 8932, PB05AJ- 3325, PB06BA- 0091, PB13BH- 0091,
PB06V-8613 and PB06AV-6400 along mineral shall only be released after realization of penalty from them.
During seizure it was found that the vehicles had lifted material from unregistered stone crushers of Keerian Gandial in violation of rules of Geology and Mining Department and moving towards Punjab side.
DMO informed that Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rakesh Manhas has already issued circular whereby all stone crushers have to submit their documents as per SO.60 of 2021 and action shall be initiated against unregistered stone crushers, he added.
