Father-son swept away in flooding Nallah

RAMNAGAR, June 27: In a tragic incident, a father-son duo were swept away in flooding Kunj Nallah at Panjgrain Panchayat in tehsil Ramnagar, here today.
The incident took place around 6 pm when the deceased were on way to attend a marriage function in a nearby village and drowned while crossing the nallah, which was flooding because of heavy rain since last night.
Reports said that 45-year old Diwan Chand, son of Paras Ram, resident of Panjgrain, Ramnagar along with his 14-year old son Sangem were crossing the nallah when they slipped into deep water and were swept away. . A person at the nearby water mill spotted the duo drowning and brought the matter into the notice of Police.
Even as a rescue operation was immediately launched by locals and the Police party, led by SHO Ramnagar, Sohan Singh, bodies of both father and son were not traced till filling of this report.
The rescue operation was later suspended due to darkness and will be resumed in the morning, Police said.
