27 bovines rescued, 9 smugglers arrested

RAJOURI, June 28: Taking tough stand against bovines smugglers a team of Rajouri Police led by SHO Rajouri Inspector Shoket Hussain under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Mudassir Hussain, rescued 27 bovine animals loaded in five Tata Mobile vehicles in Rajouri area since last night.
Official sources said that police seized the vehicles and arrested nine persons involved in smuggling of milch animals. In this regard five FIR have been registered under FIR NOs. 298/2023, 300/2023,  301/2023, 302/2023, 303/2023 U/S 188 IPC 11PCAct.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Amritpal Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri district has a zero-tolerance policy towards bovine smuggling as it is not only an unlawful act but is also inhumane as bovine animals are smuggled with cruelty.
