SRINAGAR, June 29: J&K Police has attached the properties of alleged drug smugglers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An under construction house on land measuring 10 marlas at Main Mohalla Pattan belonging to drug smuggler Barakat Ali was attached after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities, police said. They said the house was linked to a case under Section 8/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Pattan.
“The investigation proved that the said immovable property was raised/ used for Illicit trafficking by the drug smuggler,” police said. Similarly, a Hyundai i10 belonging to Abdul Rehman Malik of Kalantra Payeen was attached after obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities. The said vehicle was linked to a case under section 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of Police Station Kreeri.
“The investigation proved that the said movable property was raised/ used for illicit trafficking by the drug smuggler,” police said.The attachment was carried under the overall supervision of SSP Baramulla Amod Ashok Nagpure. They said general people of the area hailed the initiative of Baramulla Police with regard to attachment of moveable or immovable property which has been raised or used for illicit trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district.
